IT Security Analyst III –

Cloud Security Engineer 


Job Summary: 

The ideal candidate for this job will be an experienced AWS Security Engineer familiar with implementing and managing AWS security services including IAM and Security Hub. 

The ideal candidate will have a solid background in conducting security audits vulnerability assessments and advanced adversary analysis. 

The successful individual should demonstrate the ability to work autonomously remain current with emerging threats and ensure adherence to industry compliance standards proactively identifying and mitigating risks.

This is a project-based professional role contributing as SME for cloud security posture


Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position has direct supervisory responsibilities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Configure and maintain AWS security services like IAM and Security Hub ensuring the AWS environment's security infrastructure is resilient.

Regularly assess AWS infrastructure vulnerabilities and implement best practice risk mitigation measures utilizing tools like penetration tests and vulnerability assessments.

Automating security tasks and processes such as vulnerability scanning threat detection and incident response to improve efficiency.

Ensure AWS environments meet industry compliance standards and generate necessary compliance reports.

Maintain comprehensive documentation on AWS security procedures configurations and operational tasks while also evaluating third-party tools for security policy conformance.

Handle security incidents proactively conducting post-incident reviews and recommending preventive measures.

Proficiency in Git version control workflows cloud orchestration and virtualization technologies/platforms.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams maintaining an integrated database of software hardware and process artifacts.

Educate teams on AWS security stay updated on emerging threats and demonstrate the ability to work autonomously prioritizing tasks.

Generate detailed security reports for various stakeholders and assist in both internal and external security audit processes.

Expected to work under own initiative prioritize own work and meet agreed timescales



Experience in designing and implementing secure cloud architectures including network segmentation identity and access management and data protection measures.

Knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals and proficient in AWS services especially IAM and Security Hub.

Must Comprehensive knowledge of Terraform AWS concepts technologies and services

Familiar with penetration testing vulnerability assessments advanced adversary analysis and both blue and red team pen test tools.

Knowledgeable in SIEM concepts such as log queries alerting and incident investigations.

Possesses strong initiative analytical thinking and adopts a strategic perspective.

Understands industry compliance standards and is proficient in creating detailed security reports.

Committed to staying updated on cybersecurity threats AWS changes and security industry best practices.


Education and Experience: 

3+ years of experience working in an IT security or related field require

Minimum 3 years of experience troubleshooting storage network and compute systems and cloud applications.

Minimum 2 years of experience troubleshooting and remediating security events.

Minimum 2 years working with Cloud infrastructure required (Azure/GCP/AWS).



 AWS Certification preferred

Physical Requirements:

Could periodically travel to other office and operational sites. 

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
